About

We are delighted to announce our next Piano-Yoga® students' concert, which will take the place online on Saturday 23d of July at 7:00pm UK time. With our students located all over the world  - from the UK, France, Germany, Holland, Australia, USA - we will donate all the proceeds to the cause of saving Kharkiv children, who are currently experiencing tremendous hardship.

Our founder, GéNIA, was born and educated in Kharkiv, Ukraine, and, therefore, we feel that whatever education GéNIA passes on to us, is deeply rooted in her Ukrainian heritage.

Since the start of the war Kharkiv has been under heavy attacks on a daily basis and we would like to help GéNIA's foundation.

The programme includes works by Mozart, Chopin, Rachmaninov, Schubert, Liszt and GéNIA. GéNIA will open the evening talking about her foundation and the work she has been doing, and will finish with an online after-party, where you will be able to meet our students.

By buying a ticket, you will be contributing to a great cause!

If you are in a position to do so, and would like to help further, you are warmly invited to donate further to GéNIA'a campaign (click HERE), where you can also learn more details about the campaign.

We would appreciate if you could donate generously, as these funds will help Kharkiv kids with serious health conditions to be taken abroad for treatment, where they already have been accepted at major hospitals across Europe.

Your help will be invaluable. Thank you!

The details of the concert programme for tomorrow, 23d July 2022:

GéNIA’s students will be performing the music by JS Bach with various pieces from Partitas no 1 and no 3, WA Mozart Fantasia in D minor, F Schubert Impromptu in B flat op.42, R Schumann 'Warum?' from Fantasiestücke, Op. 12 , F Liszt Consolation No 3, J Brahms Intermezzo op.117 no.1, F Mendelssohn - various Songs without Words op.67, C Gounod 'Ave Maria – Méditation sur le Premier Prélude de J. S. Bach', S Rachmaninov Prelude in G sharp minor op. 32 No 12, and GéNIA will play 'Bella Ciao', the arrangement of the beautiful anti-fascist Italian song made by Italian composer Paolo Cognetti (which GéNIA released recently to support Ukraine).

GéNIA is very grateful to my students for their support to the Ukrainian city where she was born, and where the terrible acts of war are happening every day, killing innocent citizens, including children.

The proceeds from this concert will be sent to help Kharkiv children with serious health and mental health conditions to be transported from Kharkiv to Western hospitals and to other places for rehabilitation, where they already have been accepted for treatment.

This is really a great example where amateur pianists join together to support a good cause.

You are all warmly invited!

Supporting

KHARKIV FOUNDATION from Support Kharkiv Foundation

'Support Kharkiv Foundation’ has been created by the London - based concert pianist and composer GéNIA, who was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, to support the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv and its citizens, as the city has undergone destruction on a huge scale during the war in Ukraine. It is a micro-trust in aid of ‘GivingWorks’, a charity registered in England and Wales (charity registration no.1078770).

Whilst many big international charities provide support across the Ukraine, I feel that there is a need for localised help, on a simple, practical level. Since the beginning of the war in the Ukraine (24 February 2022), Kharkiv has come under heavy bombing (as it is positioned to the East of the country where the Russian army is now gathering their forces).

Apart from regular rocket attacks, a number of mines have been scattered on the streets in residential areas, which has made it dangerous to walk outside. Many civilians have been injured (and some, sadly, killed). There has not been a single day without the city being bombarded since the first day of war.

Therefore I have teamed up with a local charity ‘Kharkiv with You’ БФ "Харків з тобою" to help its citizens directly.

Kharkiv is a city which gave birth to, and educated many of the world’s most renowned musicians, artists, scientists, doctors, and other professionals. It was one of the most beautiful cities in Ukraine. Kharkiv has contributed vastly to the world, and now it is time for us to give back to it.
